The moving part is not the whole zipper

The slider brings the two rows of zipper teeth together. If it is worn or damaged, the fastening can stop working even when the surrounding chain and fabric remain usable. That is a different repair from replacing torn tape or restoring damaged teeth.

ZlideOn’s replacement slider opens, fits around a compatible existing chain and clips shut. The old slider is removed first. The fitting guide provides type and size guidance; the replacement has to match the fastening.

Access changes what is worth repairing

The important change is access around the chain. A replacement can be fitted without unstitching the zipper from the garment. The teeth, fabric and most of the object stay where they are.

Our reading: repair becomes more approachable when the boundary of the replacement matches the boundary of the failure. The small part is useful because it preserves a much larger object—not because every damaged zipper can be rescued by the same component.
