VAER PhoenixDocumented stage: Implemented
A shoe cut from fabric that already exists
VAER cuts discarded textiles into panels for footwear. In Phoenix, the cloth becomes a visible part of the upper. The previous material comes through in the finished shoe because the fabric is cut and sewn directly.

What to keep in view
Materials vary by model and edition. A take-back programme does not establish how many pairs are actually recovered.
Start with the fabric that already exists
Danish brand VAER uses discarded textiles such as denim for the uppers of its Phoenix shoes, made in Portugal. The textile supply can change from batch to batch, so the colour and finish can vary.
