A home you help fit out
Most rental homes come with room boundaries decided before the resident arrives. At Zollhaus, Kalkbreite’s four hall apartments are rented for self-fit-out. Residents can use the height and shared volume to decide where a more private space should begin.

What to keep in view
Adaptations follow the cooperative’s terms and building approvals. Zollhaus and the original Kalkbreite building are different sites.
The cooperative fixes the starting conditions
The cooperative supplied kitchens and wet rooms and planned the permitted extent of partitions. The largest hall is about 220 square metres and has a minimum occupancy of 13 under its association. A courtyard on the hall level adds a separate shared place to spend time.
