RÆBURN RÆMADEDocumented stage: Implemented
The parachute helps draw the pattern
In RÆBURN’s RÆMADE work, a parachute arrives with seams, panels and markings already in place. The maker has to decide how those features become part of a garment.

In practice. RÆBURN documents the use of surplus parachutes in its Deploy Flight project, linked in the sources below.
What to keep in view
The photograph shows one RÆBURN jacket made from parachute fabric. Other pieces use different seams, markings and materials.
How it works in practice
A seam can serve as a line to follow when cutting or a feature to place deliberately on the finished garment. Either choice makes the existing canopy part of the pattern. When panels vary from one canopy to the next, the cutter has to work with what is actually available.
