The colour comes with the recovered cotton
Mechanically recycled cotton starts with textile material that already has a colour. Sorting it into groups before breaking it into fibre gives Pure Waste a way to make yarn in a chosen tone. Short recovered fibres are blended with other fibres where the yarn requires it.
FI FinlandIn practice. Everyday garments incorporate mechanically recycled cotton and supporting fibres.
What to keep in view
Check the exact fibre mix on the garment label.
Colour inherited from an earlier cloth
Different garments have different mixes. The meaningful comparison starts with the label on the specific piece and the boundaries of any published assessment. A result for one T-shirt cannot describe a heavier garment with a different composition.
