An old airbag becomes the shell of a small bag
An airbag textile was designed for a very different pattern and use. Bilum takes that recovered fabric, lays out a new pattern and cuts it into accessories. On a bag, a crease or part of an old seam can reveal something about what the material used to be.

In practice. The white Minot uses reclaimed airbag fabric for its body, surplus awning fabric for the lining and a recovered child-seat belt for the strap.
What to keep in view
The example is an individual fabric and model. Its previous use does not establish the finished bag’s performance.
Keeping the old seams in view
The change of use does not transfer the engineering certification of an automotive airbag to the bag. Evaluate the finished accessory by its own stitching, closures and care instructions. Which marks remain depends on the piece cut for that item.
