A gatehouse opens into a gathering place
Pitrags Pavilion works on the edge between building and street. A compact former factory gatehouse has been adapted as a place to meet, with an opening facade that creates cover and makes the interior feel connected to the ground around it.

What to keep in view
The project’s use is seasonal. Check local information before visiting.
The opening changes the footprint
With the panels raised, people can gather underneath and the activity inside becomes visible. Closed, the same envelope protects a much smaller interior. Reusing that threshold gives a modest building a public role without requiring a much larger room.
