MyGug at Bandon Grammar SchoolDocumented stage: Pilot
A school lesson that starts with lunch scraps
In the Bandon demonstration, food scraps go into a small digester and students can follow their conversion to biogas in the same setting. A familiar waste stream gives the lesson a starting point.

In practice. A demonstration at Bandon Grammar School brought a food-waste digester into the school setting.
What to keep in view
The project report documents this installation. It does not establish the same performance for other schools.
From lunch scraps to the digester
The installation turns several normally separate activities into one sequence students can observe. Collecting the feedstock and looking after the digester are part of understanding what it takes to recover energy.
