From the bay to the mountain.
A steep coastal connection brings the mountain within an 11-minute cable-car journey.

What to keep in view
This is a recombination of established formats, not a novel coaster technology. Operator and investment-agency statements do not prove net emissions reductions, economic uplift or ecological benefit. Different activities have different access requirements. The whole offer is not universally accessible.
Connect the coast and the mountain
Opened in summer 2023, the Kotor-Lovćen cable car climbs 1,316 metres over a route of about 3.9 kilometres. LEITNER describes reinforced upper-station construction and special grips for the steep alignment and high rope tension. Summit attractions followed, but the central intervention is the connection itself.
Difficult terrain can make a nearby destination a long journey away. Here the engineering of the connection changes the practical relationship between coast and mountain. Whether it replaces car journeys or attracts additional trips remains a separate question.
Access changes the place it reaches
The route required more than installing a standard attraction. Station and grip design were adapted to make a short, steep connection between the coast and mountain practical.
