PLATIO integrates solar cells into paving modules. A documented Budapest installation in 2019 used about 2.3 square metres of paving to supply a nearby illuminated poster. The load and its location make a more useful example than a general claim about how much electricity a pavement can make.

A small solar system underfoot
A horizontal surface can be shaded by people and buildings and has to meet the demands of a walking surface. Output depends on the actual installation and exposure. Compare that with where a conventional panel could be installed for the same job.
