Pizza made from leftover wool
Pizza Time looks familiar until you see what is going into the oven. Studio Flétta and Ýrúrarí use wool to build up bases, toppings and slices. The result is part material experiment and part performance, made to be looked at and handled.
IS IcelandIn practice. Two Icelandic studios use the familiar gestures of a pizzeria to show how waste wool can be felted.
What to keep in view
Pizza Time is an artwork and performance. The finished slices are textile objects.
The oven is a felting machine
The theatrical setup gives the process a familiar sequence: choose the toppings, place them on a base and wait for it to come out. Felting combines fibres into a surface, so colour and texture become the work instead of something to hide. The finished slice keeps that process visible.
