Cork and marble meet in a removable joint
Corkbrick’s system uses the geometry of its modules to join them. In a 2023 collaboration in Lisbon, Olivah made a stone version of selected modules. The photographed samples show how a protruding cork profile can meet a matching profile in Estremoz marble.

In practice. Olivah’s Lisbon collaboration tests the Corkbrick interlock in Portuguese stone.
What to keep in view
The collaboration demonstrates a material translation. It does not establish structural ratings or the availability of a complete marble furniture range.
A joint has to suit the material
Cork and marble have different weight and edge behaviour. Translating the same fitting idea into stone puts attention on the shape and tolerances of the pieces. The physical sample shows a joint that can be taken apart without a permanent fixing.
